Project Manager, Technology & Development
REPORTS TO: Senior Data Engineer FLSA: Exempt
SUPERVISES: N/A LAST REVISED: March 2024
- Define and lead Technology Project Management practices to support USADA cross-functional teams in defining business needs and associated technology roadmaps.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for business processes, technology roadmap, and technology capabilities through the product development lifecycle to lead and coach cross-functional teams towards timely delivery of technology projects.
- Lead the end-to-end Full Life Cycle Development process over software development including:
- Oversee requirements and design of systems development and enhancements, including work completed by internal resources and outsourced initiatives.
- Provide oversight of software development in mobile and web applications in support of business needs across the development lifecycle.
- Lead systems testing processes and practices for system deployments, software development, and off-the-shelf solutions.
- Drive execution of the technology strategy through tracking and managing KPIs while facilitating the regular communication of updates and evaluation of performance.
- Serve as a liaison between business and technical aspects of projects.
- Coach, mentor, develop and engage a diverse team that provides exceptional organizational support and service.
- Support innovation of application testing, training, and deployment deliverables in support of the overall program change management strategy.
- Develop and update project plans for transformative technology projects, including project objectives, requirements, specifications, schedules, milestones, compliance, quality assurance, systems impacted, and personnel impacted.
- Drive the enterprise priorities and strategic objectives through open and collaborative stakeholder relationships.
- Drive process innovation and accountability to enhance operational efficiency for USADA’s operations and mission.
- Manage the vendors / partners oversight through leading the Business Application Support Lead, managing critical escalations, and driving SLAs.
- Prepare and analyze department budget and annual spending.
- BS / BA degree in an applicable field or applicable and relevant experience.
- 5 years of experience with technology development or equivalent industry experience.
- 5 years of experience building and leading teams.
- Demonstrated experience leading advanced cross-functional programs, projects and/or teams.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Agile project management methodologies or equivalent.
- Demonstrated knowledge of process improvement practices.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong requirements & design skills to drive systems and software evolution to meet business needs.
- Strong strategic orientation and critical thinking skills in technical environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead internal and external stakeholders on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and to work accurately under pressure.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills in a technical environment.
- Advanced proficiency in planning and organizing with Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with a data and technology company in sports and/or anti-doping industries.
- Experience across the anti-doping ecosystem with expertise in processes and systems.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, PgMP, or PfMP.
- Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and related technologies including but not limited to 3rd party data sources, API Integration, OTS technologies, or analytical solutions.
- Experience working with programming languages and/or projects within areas including mobile application development, web application development, API development, and data integration and business intelligence development.
